Apart from reciting to Ustadhah Kareemah, Shaykhah Rehaab Shaqaqee has also listened to my recitation and Shaykh Ayman Suwaid, may Allah preserve them all. I also have ijaazahs in several poems, including the Muqaddimah to Tajweed by Imam ibn al-Jazaree (given to me by Shaykh Ayman Suwaid), as well as the Shaatibiyyah poem and Durrah poem.
Recently I was blessed to have completed an ijaazah in the 10 methods of recitation by way of Ash-Shaatibiyyah.
I was blessed to have earned ijaazah’s in Hafs on ‘Aasim by the way of ash-Shaatibiyyah (the standard method of recitation in the middle east and eastern Muslim countries) and then an ijaazah in Hafs on ‘Aasim by the way of Al-Tayyibah. I went on to teach tajweed at Dar al-huda for 8 years as well as take the position of “wakeelah” in the institute. I studied at Daar-al-huda school of tahfeez in Jeddah under the tutelage of Ustadhah Kareemah Carol Czerepinski. I first completed memorization of the Qur’an at age 20 by the grace of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aalaa. I am fluent in English and Urdu and can understand Arabic.
